Doyle Brunson wins 150K on the Super Bowl
Super Bowl gambling bettors usually look for the big payoff in Super Bowl odds and take the underdog on the money line. They will almost never take the favorite on the money line, instead choosing to lay the points in Super Bowl betting.
Like many people across the world, Doyle Brunson put down a bet on football’s biggest game of the year: The Super Bowl. In his blog Doyle said he placed $50k down on New Orleans.
As Brunson posted on his blog on the 4th of February, he expected an enjoyable event this year as he made a 100k bet on picking the winner of the championship game. Doyle took the Colts and his opponent took the Patriots. As he must have given his bet a second thought, Doyle finally decided to bet 50k more on the Saints +4 1/2 and lock up a nice win. He told himself: “If Indy wins by 4 or less, I’ll win 150K. Nice position to be in huh?”
If you were watching the game, you would know that the Saints went on to win the game in a massive upset giving Doyle a lock on his bet. After watching the first quarter Doyle must have been thinking he just threw his $50k away, but with a decent 2nd quarter and the onside kick that was recovered to start the 2nd half, he probably started to feel a bit more comfortable about his bet.
Thankfully for Doyle Brunson, Sean Payton’s men overturned the odds and defeated the favorite Indianapolis Colts to give Doyle Brunson a $150,000 payday.
It’s the second year in succession that Brunson has won large betting on the NFL. Last year he collected $100,000 after backing the Colts to beat New England.
