Betting in general dates back much farther than any popular casino games that can be played nowadays. This practice was a long-time tradition, in the beginning, wherever there was a competition or sport, there was betting. In some cases the competitions were created and took place for the sole purpose of giving royalty and other wealthy gamblers another opportunity to bet. But at that time bets were simple matters. They consisted mostly of wagers between friends or acquaintances.
Today, betting incorporates anything and everything, from sport competitions to indoor casino games. While classic sports like football, baseball, basketball, horse racing, car racing even dog racing remain the most popular betting sources, some sources will offer odds on virtually anything with a variable outcome. Betting consists mostly of risking your money against another persons’ money in hope of an event that can’t be predicted, or is at least a doubtful event.Thing which can increase the staick. On the other side there is also gambling, but this is slightly different than gambling as the players risk to play a game of chance for money based on pure luck. Out of all the forms of gambling poker is one of the most complex and sophisticated. This is because when playing poker you can have the ability to win even with a bad hand as some previous game skills need to be involved. In many ways blackjack is even more problematic. The reason why blackjack is so popular was that it appears at first that a person could win. The fact remains that the more a person played the more it was clear that they could not win. When someone decides to do a bet they need to analyse the possibilities, no matter if they bet on the outcome of a football match or at bingo. Some games involved more luck than skills, but a player must always avoid to plunge in for the profit.

Because of the high numbers that dominate this industry online betting has become one of the easiest and most popular choice for betting. But the biggest and most fatal mistake a player can make when betting is to assume that each game in the play is not independent of all others. A betting system can increase the long term winning chances and it’s a method to bet that is more or less depending on the previous game strategies. As not betting system can work on the long term, to bet and defeat the odds of other players is something that needs constant improvement. You can find betting tips on bettingexpert.com

The 2011 Western NBA playoff has the biggest surprise until now: the fall of the San Antonio Spurs with 2-4 against Memphies Grizzlies. The younger players from Memphis basketball team beat the Tim Duncan’s old champions and Spurs were going down.
Another match where bettors cannot win even they had free bets was Los Angeles Lakers against Dallas Mavericks. Very few of us were thinking that Lakers will not win at all against Dallas. 4-0 is not quite the score that Phil Jackson coach and Koby Briant teammates were thinking of. The duo between Bryant and Gasol could be vanished in the next NBA season. I would take a free bet on it!

Right now Mavericks plays against Oklahoma City. Although those basketball players from Oklahoma are younger I can wager any big free bet on Dallas that they reach the playoff finals. Last year Novitzki managed himself and he did not play for his country Germany, and he can rest in the summer. His body are in good shape. He will lead his team to a victory. That is my opinion.

The Eastern Playoff conference had no big surprise as Western had. Any basketball lovers would like to see LeBron James in the final. One more step and there he is, if they beat Bulls. I have the strong feeling that Miami Heat has only 3 players: D.Wade, C.Bosh and L.James. Only with 3 real players you could not win the championship. Maybe they will be in the finals, but I do not see Miami Heat on the podium this year. In my opinion, LeBron James did not choose the right team in July 2010. Maybe NY Knicks were the better option for him, and do not forget the fact that he could won 2 billions US$ in his lifetime in New York. I know that he really need the ring on his finger, not the money, but right now the Heat is an average team with him. Without him the Heat is nothing in the NBA.

The Chicago Bulls may be the relevance of the Eastern and at least in the first game the felt like no-one could be compete against them. Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, Carlos Boozers and Joackim Noah smash the LeBron & Co. with 103-82. It is quite a big shame for the Heat.

If I would take a free bet I choose that LeBron James will not gain the ring this year.

Champions League returns to action with the second-leg of the quarterfinals on Wednesday, 13 April 2011, when Tottenham Spurs welcome Real Madrid on White Hart Lane.

Harry Redknapp’s men face an impossible mission as they have to turn around a massive four goals deficit registered in last Tuesday’s first-leg of this major clash.

Betting on the winner of this match is not the best betting option for a punter who usually places safe bets. Punters who are willing to take a risk could try their luck and place a small bet on the hosts as Real qualifies to the next round even in the case they lose by a 3 goals margin. Other reasons for betting on a home win include last minute news about Real’s starting eleven. If Mourinho decides to rest some of his first-team players, then Tottenham definitely has a good chance of overcoming Real Madrid in this match.

Spurs have managed to record some impressive results in this season of the Champions League. They won their Group against the odds and their home performances against top teams in Europe were both surprising and convincing. They registered a humbling 4-1 win over Twente, a 3-1 win over Inter and a clear 3-0 win against Werder Bremen. They also qualified into the quarters after a tight but unexpected 1-0 aggregate win over Milan.

On the other side, Real Madrid managed to stay unbeaten in this season of their Champions League campaign. They knocked out Lyon in the round of last sixteen after a 1-1 away draw and an easy 3-0 win in the return leg. Their coach, Jose Mourinho can boast a great performance as a manager as he has won the Champions League twice before with Porto and Inter Milan last season.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that England winger Aaron Lennon should be fit to face Real Madrid on Wednesday at White Hart Lane.

Recommended betting

Statistics show that in 27 of the 45 games played by Tottenham this season in all competitions including cups and the league both teams have scored. This second leg of their qualifying match should make no exception. We should expect an open game with plenty of scoring opportunities for both teams.

Betting on both teams to score at odds around 1.60 should be a good bet. Also betting on over 2.5 goals at odds above 1.65 could prove to be lucrative.

Betting on a home win matched at odds around 2.70 could bring you some decent rewards.

The second round of the Monte Carlo Masters starts on Wednesday with interesting matches which provide tennis punters some good betting options.

Mainly two matches attracted my attention and made me decide about recommending two good bets for this round.

Tommy Robredo, currently ranked 30 in the ATP rankings, will play Fernando Verdasco, ranked 8. This all-Spanish clash is one of the most interesting matches of the second round and is expected to be a good tennis match.

Their head-to-head records indicate a balanced match. They met ten times and each won 5 times. But veteran Robredo is well-known as a clay specialist. His overall records on clay show an impressive record of 235 matches won and 103 lost. Also, in his matches against Verdasco, Robredo leads 3-0 on clay with a clear win in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals of the Bastad tournament in 2010.

Robredo is quoted as a slight favorite and is matched at odds around 1.75-1.80 to win against Verdasco. This is a great bet considering tradition and also form. Robredo has a 10-2 record on clay this year while Verdasco lost the only match he played on clay at Acapulco against T. Bellucci by the end of February.

The other match to be considered is Andy Murray versus Radek Stepanek. Murray is a favorite and is quoted at odds around 1.40-1.45 to win this meeting but I wouldn’t trust him to overcome his much more experienced opponent.

Although he is still ranked 4th in the ATP rankings, Murray showed a lot of inconsistency this season. The Scot started the season well, finishing as a runner-up at Australian Open, but his next performances were very disappointing. Murray was knocked out in the 1st round at Rotterdam and in second round of both Indian Wells and Miami tournaments. He seems to have lost some of his confidence and his game needs improvement if he wants to stay in top 5 this year.

Murray leads 3-1 in the head-to-head meetings but they have never met on clay. This is an important detail which has to be added to Murray’s lack of form as key factors when betting on this match.

Betting on Stepanek to win at least one set looks like one of the best bets provided by this second round.

Recommended betting

Back Robredo to beat Verdasco at odds around 1.80 or higher

Lay Murray to win 2-0 that is betting on Stepanek to win at least one set at odds above 1.80.

Betting on Stepanek to win at 3.20 could also be a good bet.

Sunday afternoon, April 10, in round 32 of the Barclay’s Premier League. Arsenal are favorites to win this away fixture despite their lack of form which encourages Blackpool fans to hope for a vital home victory. But Arsene Wenger’s men have a morale edge ahead of this meeting as they have simply humiliated their Sunday opponents in the first leg in a crushing 6-0 home win.

The Gunners dropped precious points in their last three winnable games against Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers. If they had won these games, they would be just one point behind leaders United with a game in hand and home encounter with the Red Devils on the Emirates Stadium on May 1st. Instead, Arsenal drew in all these games and are now 7 points behind United with slim chances to win the title race.

An expert punter wouldn’t recommend betting on any of these teams as they are both on a terribly bad run of results.

Ian Holloway’s Blackpool are placed 17th in the table league and are just one point above the relegation zone but they seem to be on an obvious downtrend as they have registered a very poor record in their last 11 matches, of which they have won just one, drawn twice, and lost eight.

Nevertheless, a notable statistic shows that the Seasiders have scored in all their home matches this season which is a detail not to be neglected. Moreover, they managed two impressive and convincing home wins over Tottenham and Liverpool and had a 2-0 lead against Manchester United before eventually losing 3-2 in a very dramatic comeback for the Red Devils. We can’t help wondering: Would the Gunners be able to comeback if they were 2-0 down at Bloomfield Road?

Arsene Wenger should be concerned with the defensive problems of his team which has also revealed inability of scoring in their last troubling matches.

Blackpool will put a lot of pressure on the shoulders of their talisman, Charlie Adam as the Scottish has scored some important goals for the Seasiders. Blacpool’s top-scorer DJ Campbell also returns from a three-game suspension. Adam and Campbell have each scored 9 goals for the Tangerines and this powerful strike duo could create a lot of problems for Arsenal’s defense.

Recommended betting

Both teams are in a must win situation here and pressure could also influence the result of this fixture. Betting on the winner of this match is not a safe option. Instead, betting on both teams to score might prove to be a good bet.

If you are looking for an upset, this match could be a good betting opportunity. Odds above 8 for a surprising home win are worth considering when you make your betting predictions.

Another lucrative betting tip could be Charlie Adam to score.

In-form West Bromwich Albion will visit out-of-form Sunderland on Saturday, 9 April, on Stadium of Light in a decisive match for the relegation fight in the English Premier League.

Betting on in-form teams proved to be a successful recipe for many punters and West Brom looks like a good betting opportunity this weekend.

The Baggies are on a hot run since Roy Hodgson took over as they have managed to stay unbeaten in their last five games. West Bromwich Albion have registered 3 draws and 2 wins during this great run of results. The last three games played by the Baggies under Hodgson are relevant for the obvious progress in their game. They won 3:1 away at Birmingham; they surprised everyone with a high-scoring home draw against Arsenal and finally came back from 1-0 down to overcome Liverpool 2:1 in the previous round at The Hawthorns.

On the other hand, Sunderland suffered a crushing defeat 5-0 away to Manchester City in the previous round and has lost 6 out of their last 7 matches. Their manager Steve Bruce has already admitted his team having the worst spell of the season, as he put it, and needs to do some changes if he wants to avoid relegation.

Another statistic to consider when you fancy betting on this event is West Brom’s scoring records. The Baggies have scored at least one goal in every league match they played under Roy Hodgson. This game should make no exception and West Brom certainly have the ability to score against a team which has conceded lots of goals lately.

In the league tables West Bromwich Albion are only four points above the relegation zone with 36 points but a win here would secure their survival in the Premier League.

Sunderland will be without two key players, injured Titus Bramble and Fraizer Campbell. Graham Dorrans is likely to miss the match for West Brom.

Recommended betting

Betting on West Brom to continue their good run under Hodgson should be a good betting option.

Betting on West Brom to win away at odds around 3.50 or higher could be very lucrative.

A much safer bet would be the double chance betting option. West Brom to win or draw at odds around 1.70 could prove to be a very good bet.

Ukrainian Dynamo Kiev welcomes Portuguese side Sporting Braga on Lobanovsky Dynamo Stadium in the quarters of the Europa League on Thursday, 7 April. The difficult weather conditions and cold reception in Ukraine are among the toughest obstacles for any visiting team playing here. Therefore, this slight edge of playing on Ukrainian ground should be taken into consideration by any serious punter who fancies betting on this match.

The Eastern European clubs have shown great improvements in the last seasons and become a force to be feared in European football. Dynamo Kiev have played regularly in top European competitions and managed to record good results in the last years.

Dynamo Kiev has registered a solid home performance in 2011 as they have won all their four games played on home ground. Moreover, the Armymen have kept a clean sheet in these meetings and alongside Porto are favorites to win the prestigious Europa League title.

Punters who trusted Dynamo Kiev to win their home games in Europa League must be pleased with their betting tips and they would definitely back the Ukrainians to continue this uptrend. Yuri Semin’s team humiliated Besiktas 8:1 on aggregate and knocked out one of the richest clubs in Europe, Manchester City, in the last round thanks to a convincing 2-0 home victory.

Braga eliminated Liverpool in the previous round without conceding a goal. On Thursday the Portuguese side coached by Domingos Paciencia will have a tough time in Ukraine as they will miss two first-team defenders Alberto Rodriguez and Uwa Echiejile, who are both injured, which makes their trip to Kiev even more difficult.

Recommended betting

Dinamo Kiev are in good form and there are no signs to indicate the beginning of a downtrend. Also, their experience in European competitions and the advantage of playing on home ground should be enough to secure them another home win in the Europa League campaign.

Betting on a home win at odds around 1.60 should be the best betting option for this game.

Betting on odds above 2.50 for a home win by a two goals margin could prove to be another good bet for this match.

Betting on Dynamo Kiev to win to nil at odds of 2.40 with PaddyPower also looks like a winning bet.

Another good bet to consider when betting on this meeting could be veteran Andriy Shevchenko to score.

One of the youngest and most influential poker players nowadays is Norwegian Annette Obrestad. Her major achievement is winning the first WSOP Europe which made her the youngest player ever to win a WSOP bracelet as she was just 18 at the time.

Born in 1988 in Norway, Annette started to learn Stud poker as a child. Her father taught her the game and she has never stopped playing poker since then. In 2003, when she was just 15 years old, she wanted to open an online poker account and asked her mother to let her use her credit card but Annette’s strict mother refused. She started playing freeroll tournaments under the nickname Annette_15 and managed to build an impressive million dollar bankroll from zero.

She has quickly discovered she had an inborn talent for the game as she could easily beat the online ring games at the low stakes. While she was still a high-school student, she used to make hundreds of thousands of dollars playing online poker tournaments from her bedroom. One famous legend says that she managed to win a sit and go tournament with 180 entrants without looking at her cards.

In September 2006, she made a final table in a $109 plus rebuys tournament on PokerStars as she finished fifth and earned a decent amount of money. Then she had a great run of impressive results between September 2006 and September 2007, when she finished in either first or second place in twenty $109 + rebuys and $55 + rebuys tournaments played on PokerStars alone. Besides, she kept playing on other sites too and recorded some other first place finishes in various online events.

Annette Obrestad had no problems to make a successful transition to live poker tournaments. Shortly after she turned 18, she played in the 2006 Ultimate Bet Aruba Classic and managed to finish in the money, on 37th place. But the major achievement of her live career was to come in September 2007, a few days before turning 19, when she won the first-ever World Series of Poker European Championship, which was held in London’s Leicester Square.

Annette’s performance was meritorious as she outlasted 361 players in the £10,000 No Limit Main Event and scored the biggest payday of her career. She won no less than £1,000,000 ($2,013,734) and some of her famous victims included a few top professional poker players like Jennifer Harman, Paul Wasicka, and Annie Duke.

After she reached celebrity, Annette become a pro at the online poker and casino site Betfair along with poker players Sorel Mizzi and John Tabatabai.

In May 2010 Annette Obrestad kept the news headlines as she signed a pro deal with online poker site Full Tilt.

Betting experts who trusted Manchester United to grab the three points at stake on Upton Park and placed their bets on an away victory and over 5.5 goals won decent amounts of money.

Leaders Manchester United consolidated their title chances on Saturday afternoon when they showed a great fighting spirit and determination as they managed another dramatic late comeback from 2-0 down to beat the Hammers 4-2 thanks to a sensational hat-trick scored by Wayne Rooney.

This terrific comeback could be backed at high odds of 30.0 on Betfair in-play live market. Also, over 5.5 goals have been backed at incredible odds of 55.0 in other in-play markets. Correct score 4-2 traded at odds of 26.0.

On this occasion, United extended their lead to seven points over title rivals Arsenal, who dropped another two precious points in a disappointing and scoreless home draw against relegation fighters Blackburn. Underdog title chasers Chelsea also grabbed only one point in an away 1-1 draw at Stoke. Manchester United are now quoted as huge favorites at odds of 1.25 to get the Premier League title for a 19th time, while the Gunners are matched at odds of 7.6 to win the title.

Whether you happen to be a very positive-minded and optimistic Manchester United fan or you simply enjoy betting on long-shots, you can now take the opportunity to bet on the Red Devils to complete the treble this season that is to win all three major trophies they are battling for: Premier League title, FA cup trophy and Champions League trophy. Sir Alex Ferguson’s team is matched at very tempting odds of 18.5 to achieve this outstanding performance.

Betting on a high-scoring Manchester City home win proved to be a successful and lucrative bet for punters who backed Roberto Mancini’s men to hammer bottom side Sunderland.

Manchester City are now big favorites quoted at 1.18 to finish in the top four following their easy Sunday home win 5-0 over strugglers Sunderland. Their fourth place rivals Spurs only managed another goalless draw away at Wigan while Liverpool lost 2-1 away at West Brom. The 0-0 scoreline in Wigan against Tottenham was matched at odds of 14.5 on the exchange betting market.

Albion conceded first in their home encounter with Liverpool who have been backed at odds of 1.31 for a very expected win. On the other hand, West Brom were backed by punters at high odds of 23.0 in-play on Betfair betting market.

Leaders Manchester United are facing a tough trip to Upton Park in London on 2nd April 2011, on Saturday afternoon, when they play the in-form relegation battlers West Ham. This match might look like an easy encounter on paper but on the field, the Red Devils will have to play their best football to overcome a motivated and hot-running team like West Ham.

With Arsenal and Chelsea breathing down their necks in the title battle, United is in a must win situation here as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men should avoid dropping points at this stage of the season. Hosts West Ham are confronted with a similar pressure as they have just escaped the bottom three and need another home win to get out of the relegation zone.

Many punters would avoid betting on an unpredictable match like the one in question. Nevertheless, this interesting clash between underdogs West Ham and favorites Manchester United leaves room for some value bets. Manchester United are priced at odds of 1.85 for an away win, which seems a bit too short if we consider their latest form. My punting skills tell me that the value bet here is definitely backing a home win at odds around 4.50 or higher.

Uptrend versus downswing

The Hammers seem to be on a slight uptrend as they have managed to collect 11 points from their last six Premier League matches. West Ham are unbeaten in their last four league matches as they managed two impressive home wins against Liverpool and Stoke City and a surprising 0-0 away draw at Tottenham Hotspur in the previous round.

Taking a closer look at Manchester United’s recent records, we can fairly jump up the conclusion that the current leaders are on an obvious downtrend. Away records are not that great for a Manchester United team who claims the Premiership title. The Red Devils have only managed to secure a single win in their last five Premier League away games in London and they registered just five wins in their last 19 away matches.

A player to watch is West Ham’s newest acquisition, the 25-year-old Senegalese Demba Ba, who has already scored four goals in four Premier League appearances for West Ham since his arrival in January.

The East Londoners have simply humiliated Ferguson’s team on Upton Park in their League Cup meeting on November 30th in 2010, when they hammered Manchester United in a memorable 4-0 win. Are West Ham prepared to hammer the Red Devils again and deliver an upset on Saturday?

Manchester United have lost their last two away games. Will they lose the third one in a row?

Recommended bets

If you were to choose a winner in a random match, would you put your money on a depleted, out-of-form squad facing a busy schedule against an in-form team playing home, desperate to get the three points at stake?

West Ham to win at odds of 4.50 or higher
Betting on Demba Ba to score first might also be a good betting option.
