Sony Ericsson Open in Miami has reached its quarterfinals stage after a week of play. In the men’s tournament we have already witnessed a couple of major upsets as two players seeded in the top 5, Robin Soderling and Andy Murray, have been eliminated in early stages, before the quarterfinals. In the women’s tournament we have seen Andrea Petkovic playing her best tennis as she eliminated two top 10 players. The German player got everyone’s attention when she delivered the biggest upset of the year by overcoming world no. 1 Wozniacki in round 4. Then she followed her good run with another marathon victory over No. 7 seed Jelena Jankovic in the quarter-finals.
